MCI Consultants today announced that it has expanded its services and consulting activities associated with providing budgeting and planning solutions that have been developed for the banking sector and which are based on IBM's Cognos TM1 Software, further north into Africa and the Middle East.
"The tool that we originally created and subsequently exploited for this is BankAlytic, a best-practice framework for key performance management in banking," commented Aliki Droussiotis, Director of MCI Consultants. "Working with our clients, we utilise this framework together with our banking expertise to develop the appropriate and bespoke solutions here in South Africa that are then subsequently implemented at the relevant sites, a pattern that allows us to easily provide solutions further afield.
"We developed the BankAlytic framework in order to address many of the performance management challenges that the banking sector has to face on a day-to-day basis, such as linking strategy to operations; analysing performance across multiple dimensions; and presenting reports and consolidations in an appropriate manner," continued Droussiotis. "In this regard, we are now working closely and successfully with banks operating in countries such as Botswana, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia to address these types of issues.
"The implementation of solutions based on the BankAlytic framework have already provided numerous benefits within the banking sector, including the provision of information with transparency and integrity; strengthened accountability and ownership; the efficient communication of goals; time savings on planning cycles and reporting processes; and improved alignment among departments," concluded Droussiotis. "In brief, these bespoke software solutions, which close the performance management loop within the banking environment, is an approach that is being viewed seriously by many of them as a means of moving forward, especially since the availability of these types of specialised skills are becoming increasingly difficult to find."
