MDS updates monitoring software
Data centre specialist MDS Technologies has updated its server monitoring suite, as business continuity continues to be a vital issue for certain businesses, reports Networkworld.
The company has now updated its assessing, monitoring, alerting and reporting (AMAR) II software, which is used in its facilities to monitor a number of variables.
Some of these variables being monitored include server temperature, fan speed and environmental humidity, as well as power usage, connectivity and bandwidth usage.
GlobeOp offers managed services
GlobeOp Financial Services is now offering managed services in hosted data centres for hedge funds and other data-sensitive organisations challenged by increasing requirements and costs for business continuity and disaster recovery, according to Trading Markets.
A cornerstone of GlobeOp's active-active IT infrastructure, the facility is specifically designed to meet the demanding real-time operational, network, scale and resiliency needs of global financial services clients.
"Robust business continuity plans and disaster recovery capabilities rank among the priorities of fund investors conducting operational risk due diligence," says Vernon Barback, GlobeOp president and COO.
Training with free airfare
The Institute for Business Continuity Training (IBCT) says it will provide new early bird incentives to assist firms sending participants to its business continuity workshops, reports Free-Press-Release.
Effective immediately, IBCT will provide free airfare, free hotel and/or free meals to all course participants who register under the early bird incentive plan.
"In these times of economic uncertainly, all companies need a business continuity plan more now than ever before. With revenue and supplies stretched as thin as they are, even a minor business interruption can quickly escalate into a major disaster," notes IBCT MD, Michael Bittle.
