Mediasurface buys rival

Mediasurface, a UK-based content management software maker, agreed to buy rival Immediacy for $11.1 million to boost its mid-market offerings, says CBR Online.

The deal, expected to close in late July 2007, will allow the company to play in the mid-market WCM segment.

CEO Lawrence Flynn said in a statement that Immediacy's Web content management software will round-out Mediasurface's own portfolio.

Groupe La Provence chooses Nstein

Groupe La Provence, a French press group, has selected Nstein's Ntelligent Content Management (NCM) Suite to manage its assets, says CNW Group.

Over the past year, the management of digital asset archives and the creation of the new regional portal has utilised NCM's Web content management and digital asset management modules.

Groupe La Provence also wished to automate the process of importing content generated by the group's reporters and maximise accessibility.

FCG introduces FirstPoint

First Consulting Group (FCG) has released FirstPoint, a new suite of products developed specifically to address content management for the life sciences market, says Obbec.

FCG and Microsoft are working together to deliver a product built entirely on the Microsoft platform, leveraging Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

The software solution offers a new architecture to ensure across the enterprise in R&D, clinical, quality and manufacturing, sales and marketing and corporate operations.
