Mega releases modelling suite

Mega International defines process-inclusive enterprise architecture (EA) as the ability to define the strategy of an organisation, and to put processes and technologies in place to support that strategy, reports SDTimes.

The company released the 2009 version of its Mega Modelling Suite, a modular tool set created for EA management through business process modelling and IT planning.

The suite is now compliant with the Business Process Modelling Notation and MetaObject Framework 2 specifications overseen by the Object Management Group.

Zetta unveils enterprise service

Start-up Zetta has unveiled an enterprise-class, software-as-a-service storage business with an architecture built on proprietary systems and offering an all-inclusive service starting at 25 cents per gigabyte of storage, reports Computerworld.

Enterprise-class storage service providers of the late 1990s and early 2000 failed because companies had concerns around and the possibility of co-mingling of information with competitors also using the service, according to most industry observers.

Chris Schin, vice-president of products at Zetta, said his company's enterprise cloud storage service uses separate encryption keys for each volume of data, so even from different departments in the same company using the service cannot be read.

Oracle offers out-the-box integration

Users of the Oracle Agile Product Life-Cycle Management (PLM) software package now have a ready-made solution for connecting to the SAP ERP suite, according to Manufacturing Business Technology Magazine.

Oracle unveiled this solution, dubbed the Oracle Agile PLM Design-to-Release Process Integration Pack, on 6 April. On the same day it released its integration packs for creating links to move from the Oracle customer and product data hubs to the Siebel CRM and Oracle e-business suites.

In providing the PLM Design-to-Release integration pack, Oracle acknowledges that many users of the Oracle Agile PLM suite use SAP for ERP.
