Motherboard manufacturer, Asus SA has appointed Memtek-MMW as one of its local motherboard component distributors. According to Richard Watters, country manager at Asus SA, Memtek-MMW has picked up where One Technology Group (OTG) left off with their motherboard distributorship following OTG`s incorporation into Siltek Distribution Dynamics (SDD).
"Asus is focusing on South Africa as a key emerging market. A solid channel strategy has always been critical for us, particularly as, until last year, Asus had no official presence and relied completely on its distributors for this. "Asus believe Memtek-MMW`s expertise within the components market will help increase market-share for our motherboards," he says.
Jason Band, product manager at Memtek-MMW, explains that the partnership is an accolade for the local distributor because of Asus` strong international brandname. "The Asus pedigree is extensive, having been ranked amongst the top 100 companies in the world - the only Taiwanese company to be named - as well as being positioned as the number one Taiwanese IT company.
"The company places great importance upon the level of quality of its motherboards, while retaining a competitive price," says Band.
