Mendix names Jim Stevens as vice-president of business development

Experienced alliances executive will lead strategic partnerships across indirect sales channels amid growing demand for Mendix App Platform.

Boston, 13 Feb 2013

Mendix, the app platform company for the enterprise, today announced it has appointed Jim Stevens to vice-president of business development. In this newly created role, Stevens will build on the success of the existing Mendix partner ecosystem, lead the company's strategic alliances and expand its indirect sales through channel partners on a worldwide basis.

The move comes as Mendix continues to expand rapidly in the application platform as a service (PaaS) market - in 2012, the company grew at a triple-digit rate - due to strong interest in its flagship Mendix App Platform for fast enterprise application development and deployment in the cloud. Stevens will lead the company's efforts to build high-value sales and delivery channels around the world, create partner programmes, increase awareness of the company's solutions, and cultivate new revenue opportunities.

"Mendix is generating significant revenue potential and great interest among prospective partners on a global and regional basis," said Stevens. "It's a tremendous opportunity and privilege to join such a talented group of professionals at a company with a growing partner community. The Mendix App Platform is ideally suited to helping channel partners quickly create high-value, differentiated solutions, leading to success for customers, partners and Mendix. I eagerly look forward to this exciting challenge."

Prior to Mendix, Stevens held a series of channel management and business development roles at VMware, DynamicOps, Progress Software, HP and others. Stevens has a successful record of building strategic, revenue-generating relationships on regional and global levels with systems integrators, VARs, and OEMs.

"We are delighted to welcome Jim to the Mendix team," said Derek Roos, chief executive officer of Mendix. "We continue to strengthen our commitment to strategic alliances and indirect sales channels that can efficiently bring the value of the Mendix App Platform to more industries, geographies and customer segments. With his extensive experience in business development, Jim is the ideal candidate to lead this effort for our company."
