Computer Associates International has announced that it has been named "1998 Strategic Partner of the Year" by Merisel, a major North American distributor of computer hardware and software products with more than $4 billion in annual sales. CA was specifically recognized for its market share growth and leadership in the business software arena.
"Computer Associates was a natural choice for the 1998 Strategic Partner Award because of its high-quality workgroup products and enterprise solutions," said Tracy Robbins, Merisel`s vice president of software. "Merisel is uniquely positioned through our enterprise computing division, MOCA, and our VAR organization, to support Unicenter TNG and other CA products. Our partnership with CA provides us with strategic opportunities to expand our sell-through of high-end, high-profit solutions."
Additional Merisel criteria for the software category included revenue growth, partnership in terms of marketing support, and strategic importance of the product line to Merisel.
