Metastorm, distributed locally by alliance partner DVT, has announced record financial results for its first quarter ended 31 March 2006; its highlight being a 90% increase in total revenue over the same quarter last year.
Including the effects of the October 2005 CommerceQuest acquisition, the first-quarter results reflect strong sales of the full Metastorm BPM (business process management) suite. This is the company`s eighth consecutive profitable quarter.
"Metastorm`s software suite is differentiated from the rest of the business process management products in the market by its ability to support the entire process lifecycle across multiple organisational processes," says Derek Hughes, MD of DVT Gauteng. "The first quarter of 2006 has proved to be one of the best in Metastorm`s history and with over 40 customers in South Africa alone, this country is one of the fastest growing markets for Metastorm worldwide."
This latest quarter saw Metastorm adding 25 new BPM customers to its portfolio, including four in South Africa. These included organisations such as Conair, Duke Energy, US Investigative Services and the US Navy in the US; Eppendorf in Germany; and Portman Building Society in the UK.
Existing customers substantially expanding their use of the Metastorm BPM suite this quarter included AmerisourceBergen, Great Clips and Ikon Office Solutions in the US and InBev in the UK.
"Metastorm is off to a very strong start for 2006, building on the strong performance reported throughout 2005," Hughes says. "The investments made last year in developing a complete BPM suite are paying off now in the form of sales to organisations looking for a single solution to address the complete roundtrip process lifecycle across both human-centric and system-centric business processes. The company`s comprehensive product suite, its proven success in delivering results and its global support infrastructure make Metastorm the ideal solution for organisations seeking greater control and agility across mission critical processes."
Additional Metastorm achievements in the first quarter of 2006 include:
* The release of Process PodsT, a framework that addresses specific vertical and horizontal processes and technical integration to complementary applications;
* Being named by KMWorld in "The 100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management for 2006"; and
* Being reported by IDC as one of the top 10 vendors worldwide for business process automation as measured by 2005 software licence and maintenance revenues.
