Business process management software provider Metastorm has launched e-Work Envision, an advanced process modelling and simulation software application designed to enable intuitive analysis of business processes to identify problem areas and model effective changes.
The new application is available in SA from DVT, a Metastorm Alliance Partner (MAP). It forms part of Metastorm`s BPM Suite and works off both historical and real-time data flowing through the process.
Envision is expected to deliver powerful benefits to new customers and to Metastorm`s existing 750-plus global customer base in the form of greater productivity, decreased costs, and more rapid process improvements.
"A critical element of any business process management initiative is the ability to model and analyse various process scenarios," says Mike Thompson, principal research analyst for BPM at the Butler Group. "By providing a software suite that offers not only process design and automation capabilities, but also deep process intelligence and simulation and analysis capabilities, Metastorm is offering the market a complete set of tools for continuous process improvement.
"Organisations which successfully implement process automation with a focus on process analysis and improvement will ultimately gain a competitive advantage in the form of greater efficiencies, increased agility and more rapid innovation."
e-Work Envision provides customers with powerful forecasting and predictive analysis capabilities that allow users to both model new processes as well as simulate the impact of changes to existing processes.
The real power of e-Work Envision comes from its integration with the rest of Metastorm`s BPM suite, which designs, automates, monitors and analyses critical processes. The combination enables: * Modelling with real process data: With the addition of e-Work Envision to the software suite, both the real-time and trend-based data on live processes already collected by the Metastorm e-Work process engine are directly visible to a robust set of modelling and simulation capabilities. This gives users the foundation they need to accurately forecast and predict the impact of process changes on the business.
* Unlimited potential to improve processes: Any aspect of a process can be analysed and modelled, including process flow, roles, services, business rules and integration points - the possibilities are open to the user`s imagination and innovation. The software supports true, real-time continuous process improvement by allowing users to immediately apply modelled process changes with no system downtime.
* Forecasting of future process performance: Metastorm e-Work is unique in its ability to capture time-phased data and support trend analysis on live processes. This data, when leveraged with e-Work Envision, allows business and IT analysts to forecast future process performance based on actual historical results and estimates of future market conditions. Processes can then be adapted to optimise future business performance.
Metastorm`s delivery of this final piece of the company`s "roundtrip" product strategy was driven by customer demand and market vision. Being an early leader in the BPM market has given Metastorm the advantage of having an extensive, global customer base of successful BPM implementations that have delivered real business results - and these implementations are now growing and evolving to encompass the full process management lifecycle.
"Metastorm is the first BPM provider to deliver a fully automated capability for roundtrip process management and real-time process analysis and improvement as part of a complete BPM suite," says Trevor van Rensburg, product director at DVT Gauteng. "Having all of the components in one packaged offering gives customers the depth and breadth of functionality of a best-of-breed approach but from a single vendor."
"For the first time, customers can model, automate, analyse, and improve a business process in real-time without having to piece together multiple applications from different vendors. Metastorm e-Work combines the power of process management, process intelligence and process analysis all in a single application set, giving customers a complete toolset for generating better business results from their most mission-critical processes."
