Metastorm`s Berry keynote speaker at BPM SIG on 15 March

Johannesburg, 02 Mar 2006

Neil Berry, Metastorm`s sales director, is to be the keynote speaker at the next Business Process Management Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting on 15 March.

The Business Process Management SIG (BPM SIG) is part of the Gauteng Chapter of the Computer Society of South Africa; it promotes the discipline of business process management with the aim of growing awareness and industry activity regionally and nationally. Members include users, managers, vendors and analysts.

Chairman Roger Layton says: "The BPM SIG has been going for just four months, and already we have a committed community of people interested, including traditional IT professionals and business analysts, and we are attracting core businesspeople who have problems and are looking for solutions. Everyone is welcome at our events - this is not exclusive to members of the CSSA. Through the SIG we are attracting many new members."

"Neil will be talking about the new era of business process management," says Trevor van Rensburg, founding member of the BPM SIG and products director at local Metastorm Alliance Partner DVT. "Analyses increasingly point to tangible results from business process management solutions; so much so that Gartner`s position on this market for 2006 is to `act now` to ensure all available competitive advantages are fulfilled."

Berry will discuss how organisations can ensure their business process management efforts provide more value and strategic advantage using the new "breakaway business process management" approach.

This talk will reveal:
* How to leverage technology to put structure around process improvement initiatives and monitor results;
* How business process management has moved beyond basic workflow to include robust process analysis and optimisation capabilities;
* How to identify the processes that will have the greatest impact on strategic objectives and prioritise business process management projects to optimise results;
* How to measure the results of each business process management project to justify its expansion to other processes and other areas of the organisation; and
* How to apply the concept of breakaway business process management in the organisation to surpass others in the market.

Responsible for developing sales in northern and central Europe, Africa and Australasia, Berry has over 18 years of executive alliance and channel development experience at Metastorm. He has also spent a significant portion of his career in the customer relationship management market where he was involved in the introducing many customer relationship management solutions into the South African market. He is a popular speaker at e-business conferences around the world.
