Metrofile has named three regional MDs as it aims to extend its position of market leadership. It has named dedicated MDs for the Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal regions.
The MDs for each of these regions are, respectively, Graham Wackrill, Guy Kimble and Trevor Cook. They report to group CEO Norman Webster, and have been tasked with consolidating the group`s structure and strategy, extending its off-site leadership to the digital domain, developing the competencies for full lifecycle content management, and laying the foundation for ongoing expansion.
The MDs will be responsible for the management of Metrofile`s offerings, including Metromanager - off-site inactive records and storage management system; Metrofiler - the on-site semi-active file management solution; Metrosure - the off-site back-up computer data storage service, Metronet - online, Web-based access to off-site records; the range of Metromedia storage products and the document conversion centres, which offer a host of insourced or outsourced services, from bulk scanning to microfilm and electronic conversion.
* Wackrill has held several senior positions at Metrofile. He was a founding partner of RSM, the first offsite storage company in SA, and brings over 20 years` offsite storage experience to his new position.
"Metrofile remains committed to helping customers reduce costs and improve productivity where document-centric processes are concerned," says Wackrill. "Our primary strategy over the next six to 12 months is to focus on Metrofile`s core business, which is the storage and management of paper and digital records. We are setting up a separate business to drive our electronic data management services, which leaves us to focus on what we do best and to grow Metrofile`s identity in the market."
Wackrill says he and his team will ensure that Metrofile continues to be positioned to provide consulting and implementation of full lifecycle records management solutions. While the company already has a strong presence in the market, he says he aims to ensure the brand remains entrenched as the leader in its space.
* Kimble joined Metrofile in 1997, since when he has seen staff grow from 24 to 200, and boxes stored soar from 80 000 to 640 000. In this time, the company has secured 80% market share in the Cape.
Kimble has overseen the construction of new facilities which position the company to offer its integrated, full lifecycle services and solutions to the market.
"Our core focus is on customer service and building solid relationships with clients," says Kimble. "Emphasising service is nothing new, but Metrofile lives this focus. Clients need to be assured they can rely on Metrofile for exemplary customer service."
* Cook joined Metrofile in September 2001. In the last two years he has consolidated all of the company`s operations into a central warehouse facility in Pinetown, incorporating a new complete process centre and warehouse currently holding 600 000 boxes. The KwaZulu-Natal operation has enjoyed great success with the take-up of digital content management, and has an exceptional relationship with its customers and prospects, as is evidenced with the healthy attendance at monthly breakfasts.
Cook has identified Northern Natal as the next growth node within KZN, and is making the requisite investments in Empangeni to enter this market.
Metrofile is the South African market leader in the management of business content, and is committed to help customers reduce costs and improve productivity in processes that are centred on documents and corporate records.
All companies have a combination of paper and electronic documents, and are forced by law and customer requirements to secure the availability of the documents for the duration of their lifecycle. For most organisations, the volume of documents is growing at an exponential rate, and is becoming increasingly difficult to manage.
Metrofile, which also has an international presence, is uniquely positioned to provide consulting and implementation of full lifecycle paper and electronic records management solutions from storage and conversion through to destruction.
