In a tie-up between leaders in their respective fields, business records management company Metrofile and active escrow services specialist Escrow Europe (South Africa) are looking to add value for Metrofile clients and prospects through access to the range of Escrow Europe products and services.
Metrofile, an Empowerdex BBB-rated empowerment company, provides consulting and implementation of full lifecycle paper and electronic records management, on or off-site. The company`s services and solutions help customers satisfy legislative and corporate governance requirements, including preservation of paper and electronic repositories through to final destruction.
Escrow Europe, established in 1989 as a neutral and independent escrow agent, specialises in software escrow and related services. These include copyright registration (protection of copyrights and backup of know-how), Internet technology escrow (escrow of technology driven e-commerce software), Web site escrow (indisputable registration of Web site content and design) and industrial escrow.
The partnership between Metrofile and Escrow Europe leverages a number of synergies between their two businesses, and provides the basis for cooperation in areas that will be more clearly identified during the initial phase of collaboration.
"For Metrofile, our main business motivation is to increase our vaulting business, which harnesses a network of Metrofile Storage Centres around the country, each equipped with environmentally controlled vaults to provide secure off-site storage and facilitate rapid access and retrieval," says Paul Mullon, divisional director - marketing at Metrofile.
"These state-of-the-art facilities, coupled with our matchless experience and know-how, make Metrofile the obvious business partner for Escrow Europe, whose core business is the secure storage and timely provision of software source code, associated documentation and other strategic business assets."
Andrew Stekhoven, managing director of the local subsidiary of Escrow Europe, comments: "The primary motivation for us is to increase our active escrow agreement business. Metrofile, with a base of more than 3 500 customers, believes it can add value to its overall solution via our products and services. Numerous market forces, including the desire for continuity in an extremely volatile business environment, and the need to comply with legal and ethical standards, are nudging more corporates to consider active escrow as a form of risk management. The new alliance will enable Metrofile to furnish a seamless answer to the needs of their clients."
Once in place, the combined offering will provide a full range of escrow services for the local market, including off-site storage of the media, tight contractual escrow agreements between clients and their software partners, and a full suite of verification services.
Metrofile, an Empowerdex BBB-rated empowerment company, is the South African market leader in the management of business documents, and is committed to help customers reduce costs and improve productivity in processes that are centred on documents and corporate records.
All companies have a combination of paper and electronic documents, and are forced by law and customer requirements to secure the availability of the documents for the duration of their lifecycle. For most organisations, the volume of documents is growing at an exponential rate, and is becoming increasingly difficult to manage. Metrofile is uniquely positioned to provide consulting and implementation of full lifecycle paper and electronic records management solutions from storage and conversion through to destruction.
