MGE UPS SYSTEMS, a World Leader in Power Protection Solutions for Business Continuity, has received the "UPS Company of the Year" award" from Frost & Sullivan for the second year in a row.

According to Frost & Sullivan analysts, "An excellent strategy, comprehensive product portfolio, increasing revenues and profitability, and strong focus on technology and customers make MGE UPS SYSTEMS the winner of Frost & Sullivan's 2006 'UPS Company of the Year' award."

Aggressive, well-balanced international growth strategy while leading the European market, MGE UPS SYSTEMS has focused on markets outside Europe, such as Asia and North America. This was combined with a stronger presence in high-potential countries like Brazil, Russia, China and India.

As part of this strategy, in 2006 MGE UPS SYSTEMS launched its wholly-owned subsidiary in India, where estimated UPS market growth is 20% a year.

Comprehensive Solution Line

In 2005-2006, 65% of the products, power management solutions and services were renewed to ensure the best answer to market needs. These launches were part of the "Intelligent Power for your business continuity" initiative: every new solution has been thought out and designed to provide customers with the highest power availability, system flexibility and total cost of ownership (TCO).

MGE's Advanced Technology Perspective

MGE has always placed innovation at the heart of its business. The year 2006 witnessed the launch of multiple technological breakthroughs such as "ModularEasy", the world-first technology which provides unique total upgrading capability for UPSs with no added initial cost.

The company is also a pioneer in new battery technologies and has already launched trials of fuel cell UPS systems. MGE UPS SYSTEMS is deeply involved in the French renewable energies cluster called Tenerrdis which is initiating multiple projects in the photovoltaic field.

Customer Focus and Services

"MGE's growth (...) has also come by providing customers with better services," commented Frost & Sullivan analysts. MGE PowerServicesTM, MGE's services organization introduced two new programs in 2006: B2000, a unique battery monitoring system and Swap Pack, the first UPS turnkey replacement program. These new offers have enriched the largest catalogue of services in the UPS industry and will contribute to improve the proactive approach of the company's 900 services experts.

Claude Graff, President and CEO of MGE UPS SYSTEMS concluded: "This second award in a row results from the strong focus on customers, services and everyday staff commitment everywhere in the world.

Being part of Schneider Electric also gives MGE great opportunities for additional business in the secured power global solutions market."
