The Metal Industries Benefit Fund Administrators (MIBFA), which administers the Metal and Engineering Industries Retirement Funds, has awarded Dimension Data a R62 million outsourcing contract to replace the current customer database.
The five-year contract sees DiData providing MIBFA with a solution catering for the growth and replacement of its existing system, which retains client information for over 250 000 pension and provident fund members.
Donovan Drew, DiData`s account manager for MIBFA, says: "By leveraging off a leading administration system supported by Dimension Data at Alexander Forbes, we were able to extend our understanding of the business requirements and facilitate an effective hosted solution for MIBFA in a best practice environment."
According to Awie Coetzee, MIBFA`s technology and infrastructure manager, the new outsource model will not only see a substantial cost saving in IT services but also improved service delivery.
Coetzee says: "With the customer database being such a core component of our business, it was essential for us to choose the right solution, and although the process will be a long one, we believe it is the best way forward."
