Michigan National provides diversified financial services and offers creative ideas and product options designed to help consumers and businesses meet their financial goals. A member of the National Australia Bank Group, Michigan National is a $10 billion asset bank with 194 financial centers and more than 300 ATMs. Michigan National provides the leading-edge products and services that customers expect from a member of a global financial network.

The Mobius Electronic Document Warehouse (EDW) is an integrated suite of products that archives and integrates documents of different formats on a wide variety of computing platforms and electronic storage devices, and makes the documents available to users for viewing over corporate networks and the Internet. The Michigan National implementation includes ViewDirect, the archiving engine and document server; DocumentDirect, the viewing client; and DocumentDirect Application Suite, a set of vertical industry application templates.

Michigan National Bank has been using Mobius software for archiving and viewing of information for several years. The new implementation extends the capabilities to include check images. With this new system, a corporate customer can receive a fully functional check image archive from the Bank and incorporate it into its existing archive, using Mobius`s ViewDirect, without reprocessing the data. Users can then access and retrieve the check images using Mobius`s DocumentDirect, the document viewing client software.

A key benefit of this new system will allow queuing of all high-dollar items for review, identification of any suspect items. In the future, transmittal of "return" notices to Michigan National, coded with reasons for returns, will be added. The Bank will then have the ability to use DDADirect, the banking option of DocumentDirect Application Suite, to pull all return items. DDADirect provides a customized viewing interface for banking applications.

"By working with us to install and implement the check imaging archive, Mobius was able to help us provide additional capabilities to our customer base," said Stanley Starnes, president, Michigan National Bank. "The Mobius team worked with us to have the new system up and running in less than four months."

The functionality of the check imaging system will enable Michigan National image customers to convert years of historic CD storage in the archive so that all checks captured by their previous systems will be available on the Mobius check image archive as well.

Michigan National is presently evaluating the Electronic Document Warehouse software suite for bankwide applications such as lockbox, as well as image archives and Internet distribution.

"Our long-standing customer relationship with Michigan National Bank allowed us to respond to their business and customer service needs by offering check imaging on their existing EDW platforms," said Mitchell Gross, president and CEO, Mobius Management Systems, Inc.. "These added capabilities will not only help them retain their corporate customer base, but also should prove attractive to prospective new clients."

On the local front, CSIR has been using the Mobius Electronic Document Warehouse very successfully for a number of years. Other sites include Woolworths and Stannic. Bateleur Software Solutions (Pty) Ltd represents Mobius Management Systems in Southern Africa.
