Epson SA`s direct value-added reseller (VAR) for projectors, Solution Technologies, has launched the company`s new ultra-portable range of projectors, believed to be the world`s lightest three-LCD super portable multimedia projectors.
The new Epson projectors, the EMP500, EMP700 and EMP710 weigh in at under 3kgs and are 72mm wide. All three deliver brightness, efficiency and image quality for business travellers who require increased flexibility with an increase in compactness.
Solution Technologies was appointed as a direct VAR for Epson projectors in May 1999 as part of the company`s specialised product channel strategy. Hans Dummer, Epson SA`s GM, says the company was "initially chosen because of its technical support infrastructure and its major business focus on the projector market and has since proven itself to be a leading player in this arena".
Epson`s growth in the local market has been impressive, with a 36% increase in sales from April 1999 to March 2000, which Dummer largely attributes to the efforts of Solution Technologies.
"Epson has redefined the quickly evolving sub-six-pound category with these new breakthrough super portable projectors," Dummer says. The projectors use a three LCD technology that blends the three spectrums of light while increasing intensity.
"With a separate LCD panel for each of the three colours, the result is a brighter, richer, truer colour experience and sharp black text," Dummer explains. "Three-LCD projectors have fewer moving parts and therefore run more efficiently resulting in a cooler running lamp that can last up to 2 000 hours."
