Microgen updates BPM suite
UK-based IT services and solutions provider Microgen has updated its Microgen Aptitude business process management suite, with the aim of making it quicker and easier for organisations to optimise their business processes, says ITWeek.
Microgen CTO Neil Thompson said extended dynamic configuration functionality within Microgen Aptitude 2.5 means that organisations can now make changes to business processes and redeploy them, without having to go back into the development environment. Instead amendments can be made and put live immediately.
Thompson said the update is designed to meet the need for organisations to be more flexible when responding to business processes. "Waiting weeks for a single change to a business process can lead to a loss of revenue and the failure to capitalise on market opportunities," he said.

Savvion incorporates Java CAPS
According to Sys-Con Media, Savvion will provide customers with human-centric process solutions through Savvion's BPM platform and the Sun Java Composite Application Platform Suite (Java CAPS).
By combining Java CAPS and Savvion BusinessManager, Savvion delivers an environment that supports process automation from conception through enterprise-wide deployment, fostering collaboration between business users, IT architects and developers, regardless of geographic or organisational boundaries.
"Customers like Java CAPS because it is the first standards-based, open extensible platform for developing software infrastructures based on an SOA approach. Java CAPS is easier and more flexible to upgrade and grow with each customer's business and it provides no vendor lock-in," said Kevin Schmidt, director of SOA product management, Sun Microsystems.
