Micromuse Inc, the leading provider of ultra-scalable, real-time business and service assurance software, has announced that it has been named in a new study by Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) as a leading vendor for configuration management database (CMDB) implementations.
Titled, The CMDB Landscape, Market Directions, Vendor Solutions and IT Deployments, the EMA study profiles more than 20 vendors with investments in CMDB and provides a market assessment of how CMDB initiatives are impacting the broader enterprise management industry.
The study finds that Micromuse`s virtual CMDB solutions provide consistent, real-time visualisation of infrastructure and application components as they impact business services and business priorities. Additionally, the EMA study reports that Micromuse`s solutions can work flexibly across the many multiple data stores that already exist in most customer environments through policy-driven data access capabilities without trying to create or impose a unifying CMDB data schema.
"Micromuse`s real-time data access capabilities will help our engineers better manage our customer and infrastructure needs," said Doug McClure, Senior Manager for Service and Technology Monitoring at EarthLink. "These real-time data access capabilities have allowed us to achieve greater information management value with less time and effort."
"Micromuse has been at the forefront of service management for nearly a decade with our patented service impact and real-time data access capabilities," said Lloyd Carney, Micromuse Chairman and CEO. "Our application of technology to virtualise the CMDB supports the rapid adoption of IT Information Library (ITIL) and Business Service Management best practices by Micromuse customers, and reflects their continued demand for progressive, cutting-edge solutions to address highly complex business problems."
Micromuse`s patented real-time data access technology, available in its Business Service Management (BSM) solutions, leverages an organisation`s existing investments in third-party and proprietary applications and data stores, allowing them to coalesce data from any mix of distributed data sources without the need for a monolithic centralised data store. This information is then delivered in a virtual CMDB view for a common, consistent and standardised point from which to drive all critical IT processes and functions. Micromuse`s patented real-time data access technology is the first to help organisations worldwide achieve a truly virtualised CMDB model for managing the wide range of service delivery and IT processes.
