Micromuse Inc., the leading provider of business and service assurance software, today announced a streamlined brand architecture for its industry-leading Netcool software products. This initiative reinforces Micromuse`s continued commitment to bring together its core Netcool product offerings into four distinct and integrated product families:

* Netcool/OMNIbus - focused on realtime and historical event management and active service monitoring, this family includes the Netcool ObjectServer, Netcool Probes, Netcool Gateways, and Netcool/xSMs products.

* Netcool/Precision - focused on dynamic auto-discovery, network inventory and topology modeling, this family includes the Netcool/Precision for IP Networks and Netcool/Precision for Transmission Networks products.

* Netcool/Impact - focused on business impact analysis, advanced correlation, topology-based root cause analysis (RCA), and triggered remedial actions, this family includes Netcool/Impact, Netcool/SLA Manager, Netcool/Visionary, Netcool/Virtual Operator, and the RCA engine.

* Netcool/Dashboards - focused on realtime business and service views, as well as trend reporting, this family includes Netcool Desktops, Netcool/Webtop, and Netcool Reporter products.

The streamlined brand architecture helps to clearly define the distinct capabilities of the Netcool solution to collect, consolidate, analyze, and inform, as well as provide enhanced collaboration, integration and innovation across existing and future products. These four product families form the core building blocks for the continued construct of specialized Netcool solutions, such as security, asset, applications and systems, and IP telephony, to support strategic IT management initiatives for Enterprise, Government and Service Provider customers.

"Micromuse`s initiative to consolidate its software offerings into four product families reflects a strong awareness of both enterprise and service provider buying patterns, which require a robust, modular solution that allows them to gather, assess, and analyze data, and visualize information for both operational and business-related decision making," said Dennis Drogseth, Vice President, Enterprise Management Associates. "With the new brand architecture, Micromuse will be able to convey the core capabilities of the Netcool suite more easily and distinctly."

"As the capabilities within the Netcool suite continue to grow, we want to clearly draw focus toward the primary building blocks," said Brent Compton, Micromuse`s Vice President of Product Management. "The four Netcool product families send a solid message underscoring Micromuse`s foundation areas of investment. We will continue to combine and apply these building blocks to solve emerging market needs, while protecting our reputation as highly-scalable and quick to deploy."
