Micros- gets cooking

Stonewall Kitchen has selected Micros-Retail, a division of Micros Systems, eOne Web Commerce as its e-commerce platform, says PR Newswire.

Micros-Retail eOne offers real-time access to many backend processes and structures, allowing a company to easily implement e-commerce initiatives, the company says.

Stonewall Kitchen says it has over 7 500 wholesale accounts worldwide, thriving catalog and Web divisions, and nine company stores with plans for growth in all areas.

HMV intros multi-supplier management

HMV is to bring in a deal-terms management system to help buyers track negotiations with music, DVD and games suppliers, writes Retail-week.

Web-based system will be provided by Eqos, with phase one of the implementation going live in the (UK) autumn, ready to handle the many deals that HMV runs over the peak Christmas trading period.

Once operational, the retailer will extend the functionality to handle campaigns made up of deals with multiple suppliers, and the management of supplier-funded marketing.

Retail technology summit coming

Innovative multinational retailers from Europe will demonstrate how leading retailers leverage IT not only to survive but also to prosper in the current challenging global economic landscape at the seventh annual European Retail Technology Summit, says SmartBrief.

The summit, which takes place on 9 and 10 June in Amsterdam, is an intensive one-and-a-half day educational programme.

It will focus on how to quickly implement new business strategies by optimising IT support applications, and is co-organised by NRF and EHI Retail Institute.
