Microsoft awards Software Futures its second Gold Certified status

Johannesburg, 23 Jan 2003

The Western Cape division of Software Futures, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSE Securities Exchange-listed MGX, has been awarded Microsoft Gold Certification status in the e-commerce category, a year after the company's Gauteng division received the same recognition.

The award is for demonstrating increased levels of developer certification, thorough real-world experience and superior levels of successful implementations of e-business solutions based on Microsoft technologies.

Software Futures is now one of only three Microsoft Gold Certified companies in SA that specialise in the e-commerce enterprise space.

The criteria for achieving Microsoft Gold Certified e-Commerce Solutions Partner status are rigorous. Applicants must be active members of the Microsoft Certified Partner programme and submit at least three verifiable customer references for projects that went live in the previous 18 months.

The organisation must employ at least four Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSEs) or Developers (MCSDs) to enrol in the e-commerce category.

Software Futures Cape division well exceeded this requirement, achieving 14 fully qualified MCSDs for the company's Microsoft certification in April. It took only six months for the company to move from Microsoft certification to Gold Certified status.

"While we have long been confident of our ability to deliver end-to-end e-commerce solutions, this recognition from Microsoft provides a stamp of approval and reinforces our reputation of being able to deliver quality solutions on time, every time," says Yusuf Dawood, solutions owner for Microsoft Solutions at Software Futures.

"This accreditation cements the mutually beneficial relationship between Software Futures and Microsoft, providing Microsoft with a partner it can fully recommend."

Categories for Gold Certification include business intelligence, collaborative solutions, e-commerce, enterprise systems, hosting and applications services, learning solutions, security solutions, software products and support services.

"We consider Gold Certified status to be the absolute recommended go-to-market partner requirement for the specific arena," says Microsoft partner manager, Geoff ten Oever. "Microsoft is committed to investing in enhanced resources and support for Gold Certified Partners as part of our ongoing commitment to provide customers with choice and product solutions of the highest quality via Microsoft Gold Certified Partner companies such as Software Futures."
