"Microsoft's BizTalk initiative is the most significant E-Commerce enabling technology announced by any company to date", said Synergy Holdings Director Patrick Toolan, announcing Vortex Communications enrollment as the first South African BizTalk partner.
"Vortex Communications, a subsidiary of Synergy Holdings, was established to develop E-Commerce business to business software. The challenge was establishing a common model given the varying data structures of the systems available on the market. It was essential that a major software player come along to establish some sort of order to prevent a compatibility nightmare," Toolan continued, applauding the Microsoft strategy.
"Microsoft has the muscle and experience to unify the computer industry with a common object model. This model will allow for any company's business documents such as purchase orders, to be easily exchanged with their partners in the value chain. This will greatly reduce costs, improve communication and accuracy, and make businesses more efficient."
"Vortex Communications will put people into the Microsoft Campus at Redmond, if necessary, to bring this technology to their client base as soon as possible. E-Commerce can become a reality. Microsoft is to be congratulated for setting standards and delivering the tools once again. The market's faith is well placed," Toolan concluded.
