Microsoft Excel `add-in` puts Access Accounts on the menu

Asyst International SA, the sole South African distributor for Access Accounting Ltd, today revealed that a new range of menu options in Microsoft Excel allows users to display their live Access Accounts data with even greater ease.

This advanced integration offers:

• A dynamic link from Excel into an Access Accounts data-file, providing both real-time "mirroring" and snapshots of the accounts data.

• Suites of `standard` reports that can be manipulated using all of the functionality offered by Excel.

• The ability to manage data within Excel and write it back to the accounts in a secure and protected manner.

• Consolidation of up to five companies or data-files.

This advancement has a direct benefit for management accountants, enabling even easier access to financial information. Many accountants prefer to work with spreadsheets, and this link ensures that all financial information is displayed in spreadsheet format quickly. Every time the spreadsheet is opened it is instantly refreshed without any re-keying of data or reformatting.

Access templates within the Excel menu allow instant recall of pre-set reports, thereby freeing the accountant from continuous spreadsheet configuration.

The write-back facility updates the Access Accounts data-file with any amendments that have been made in the spreadsheet. For example, it takes seconds to change salesman allocated to say a hundred customer records, and a few seconds more to revise a whole year`s budget in the nominal ledger.
