Sahara Computers has fortified its ties with Microsoft by announcing that it will act as distributor of the company's hardware range. At a recent dealer launch, Atul Gupta, Sahara Group MD, noted that Sahara will concentrate specifically on a focused selection of Microsoft keyboards and mice.
"Sahara has decided on the distribution of Microsoft mice and keyboards to enhance and complement our current range, however, this does not mean that we will not consider distribution of additional Microsoft hardware in the future," says Gupta.
Elaborating on Sahara's selection of Microsoft, Gupta says it offers technologically advanced and user-friendly products of the highest quality. "The Microsoft range enhances our existing computer peripheral range as it offers the dealers a selection of entry-level and high-end quality products."
"Microsoft is excited about Sahara's investment in additional products, like our high quality hardware range to complement the desktop software we supply. Now Sahara is able to deliver a one-stop distribution point for resellers wanting to increase the quality and aesthetics of their desktop solutions," says Anton Jacobsz, OEM and SMB partner manager at Microsoft South Africa. "Microsoft believes in the vital role partners play in developing customer and market relationships."
With the uptake of wireless tools in the local market, Gupta believes there will be definite interest in Microsoft's range of wireless mice, as well as its range of Internet-adapted keyboards. The Microsoft Internet Keyboard offers Internet Hot Keys, enabling users to start their browser and surf the Web straight from their keyboard, while convenient one-touch keys allows users to search or navigate Web pages and even open their Favourites folder.
"Our clients in the SME and corporate sphere are demanding functionality coupled with aesthetic appeal, and that is what the Microsoft range offers. By making these products available to the dealer channel we aim to satisfy a concrete need within the market, while ensuring that our dealers are offered variety," concludes Gupta.
