Microsoft will host a series of regional road shows during October, aimed at assisting small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) using technology in the day-to-day running of their business. The objective of the road shows is to engage with individuals and companies in those areas outside the major city centres that traditionally do not have access to regular Microsoft events or training courses. Road show venues include Pietersburg, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit and East London.
By attending the road shows, attendees will learn how to keep their systems running smoothly, free from viruses, hackers and crashes. They will also be able to deliver the most secure and reliable solutions giving their businesses peace-of-mind.
Anton Jacobsz, OEM and SMB channel manager at Microsoft South Africa, says: "A company`s geographical location should not be a hindrance to its productivity or success and Microsoft is working towards making its products and services available to everyone, irrespective of their size or location. All customers are important and we work hard to make our resources available to assist those outside the major city centres. As security has been sighted as the number one IT concern for SMEs, we decided to take our security 'learnings` and solutions to our channel partners, ultimately benefiting the end-user."

During this two-hour session, Microsoft will showcase security solutions for growing businesses, including successful case studies. Business leaders who want to know how these solutions can be applied to their business and add to their success should attend.

Technical Installation Training (for system builders)
This two-hour technical presentation is designed to assist system builders who pre-install and pre-activate Microsoft products and solutions. In this session we will show you how to install Windows 2000 Server to be 100% secure.

Sales Essentials (for channel partners and IT professionals)
Are you ready to offer software solutions that meet your customers` unique security requirements? This session will concentrate on how to identify what the pain points are, offer a business solution and sell the benefits without mentioning a product! Partners, who sell, maintain and support Microsoft products and solutions should attend.

Hands-On Training (self study, for channel partners and IT professionals)
The classroom will be open all day for self-training. Microsoft will focus on technical knowledge of its products and solutions. Partners who sell, maintain and support Microsoft products and solutions should attend.

Licensing (part of the IT Solution Showcasing and Sales Essentials)
Licensing 6.0 demystified! During his session we will recap the Licensing 6.0 programme, as well as introduce Multi-Year Open, the small and medium business licensing solution.
