Microsoft South Africa was yesterday recognised as one of the country`s best companies to work for.
As part of the annual and prestigious Deloitte/Financial Mail Best Company to Work For Survey, Microsoft South Africa was once again recognised not only as the winner of the IT industry category, but maintained its second place in the overall category of these awards.
Speaking shortly after the awards ceremony, Pfungwa Serima, managing director of Microsoft South Africa said: "This is undoubtedly the foremost recognition for companies operating in South Africa and we are thrilled as an organisation to once again be ranked so highly. While we strive, along with so many other companies, to achieve first place, maintaining our overall second position is a milestone for us.
"We know our people are our most important asset and this award is testimony to the fact that we are delivering on our mission to enable people to realise their full potential. What remains now, is to take our people ready approach to the next level, empowering and growing our people to achieve greater things and in so doing, take Microsoft South Africa to new heights."
This is the fourth consecutive year that Microsoft has been ranked in the top 10 of the Deloitte/Financial Mail Best Company to Work For survey, with an overall third place in 2003, overall first in 2004 and overall second for 2005.
Microsoft has been ranked first in the IT category, for the four years that it has participated in the survey.
