At Computer Faire 2002, Microsoft and its partners will participate in the Microsoft for Partners Pavilion - an impressive 384msqm stand with separate booths dedicated to each partner.
The Partners Pavilion is an example of Microsoft`s commitment to investing in its partner programme, by providing a forum for joint engagement with mutual customers to deliver high-quality services and benefits. Twenty-four partners will be using the opportunity to create a platform to demonstrate the latest products and services and showcase the vastness of the Microsoft partner network.
Partners participating in the Partner Pavilion include 3Com, Absa Direct, Access Vision, AdvanceNet, Canon OEP, Computer Associates, Computer Initiatives, Compuware Corporation SA, Deloitte & Touche, Digitec, Dynamic Recovery Services, Eclipse Networks, Executrain, Gentron, Integr8 IT, LGiT Smart Solutions, Marbritech, Mecer, Meissner, Microsoft Great Plains, Network Alliance, nVision, Oakwell Solutions, Objectronics, Parity, Resolution Software, SDT Financial Software Solutions, Stratus Computers, Symantec, Symetrix Information Technologies and Syspro.
Demonstrations of Microsoft`s recently launched Windows XP operating system will take place in the Demo Theatre, situated in Hall 2, on Tuesday, 21 May from 12h00-12h45. Microsoft representatives will be available on the Pavilion to handle any queries relating to Microsoft`s licensing annuity drive.
Microsoft has engaged in a joint venture with Absa and Mecer to provide a one-stop purchasing solution to assist small and medium businesses with IT purchases. This initiative will be launched at Computer Faire 2002, and allows Absa`s existing business customers to use their facility to purchase the latest Microsoft software, Windows XP and Office XP, on the latest Mecer hardware at a discounted rate, including delivery and support benefits. For non-Absa customers to qualify, customers will need to apply for the necessary credit facility and normal credit procedures will apply.
"Microsoft is excited about the opportunities that this prestigious IT event will present to us and our participating partners. By participating in the major trade conference, Brainstorm 2002, we will be able to work with industry players to address the challenges faced by our dynamic information technology industry," says Thomas Hansen, director of small and medium business at Microsoft South Africa.
