Airborne Consulting has been named Microsoft Partner of the Year 2009: Winning Customers Initiative Award.
Airborne went head-to-head with some of the country's largest software development houses, and was the only Cape-based consultancy to be nominated for the award.
Says Airborne MD, Sean O'Connell: ”We have always boxed above our weight, and to receive this recognition above every other Microsoft Gold Partner countrywide is very satisfying and a testament to a great team. This award is also a reflection of our valued customers, many of whom we have worked with since Airborne started five years ago and who have entered into longstanding partnerships with us.”
The award was won based on successful projects implemented during the past year for the Hospice Palliative Care Association, the University of the Western Cape, Masthead Distribution Services, and Old Mutual division Fairbairn Capital.
Says Warick Burke, Head of Technology for Fairbairn Capital: “Airborne are one of the most professional vendors that I have had the pleasure of working with. They have continually followed a collaborative approach with me to ensure that the solution they deliver absolutely meets my needs. Technically, I have found Airborne to be very strong, with a good depth of skilled resources, which are always made available when required.
“Nothing seems too small, or too big, for that matter, for them to tackle. Our relationship with Airborne is a genuine partnership - a sometimes very overused word in the ICT industry, and our experience has certainly always been a winning one. This is a well-deserved win.”
Criteria for the award included customer satisfaction, growing the business and customer ROI through best practise deployment of Microsoft technology, enabling people through skills development, community investments and social responsibility initiatives, and displaying innovation and thought leadership in engagements with customers.
Says Jenny Prospero, Microsoft Partner Manager: “Airborne has demonstrated an in-depth understanding of the value of the Microsoft platform and its competitive differentiators. They have been able to influence their customers' decisions, and are pragmatic at all times. They are richly-deserving winners.”
Airborne was also named as finalist in the Microsoft Partner of the Year 2009: Custom Development and Information Worker categories, at the awards ceremony, held last weekend in Durban.
