Microsoft recognises Speer's contributions to improving SME business growth

Johannesburg, 04 Sep 2005

Speer, an ICT specialist company and a tenant at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria, was awarded a Microsoft Small Business Initiative Citation for their efforts in enabling small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to adopt ICT infrastructure solutions that improve their business systems and overall efficiency.

The Small Business Initiative awards are given to those Microsoft partners who can demonstrate the innovative application of an existing Microsoft-based solution in a business with less than 50 employees or less than 25 PCs, as well as the impact of that innovation on the company's business.

Submissions for 2005 focused on a number of criteria, including how the Microsoft partners provided ways for small businesses to grow their customer base and service their customers, operate their businesses more efficiently and with better access to critical information, as well as improve the security and dependability of their technology solutions.

Speer received the citation at the 2005 Annual Microsoft Partner Summit, which is Microsoft's premier annual event for Microsoft partners. "We are proud of our association with Microsoft and the significant way in which it has enabled us to help the SME sector in South Africa," according to Speer Managing Director Jaco Strydom.

Speer looks forward to continuing their active service delivery in this sector and to continuously improving the company's competence levels to do so.
