Microsoft to unveil Expression Studio at ReMIX'07 SA

Johannesburg, 27 Jun 2007

Microsoft South Africa will use its ReMIX South Africa event for Web designers and developers, on 26 June at Montecasino, to unveil its Expression suite of tools for building Web and Windows client applications and rich media content.

"Expression Studio provides a complete platform for teams of creative designers, which boosts collaboration with developers in the delivery of next-generation user experiences for Windows, the Web, and beyond," says Manoj Bhoola, server and tools business group executive of Microsoft South Africa.

The products in Expression Studio are: Expression Web for creating standards-based Web sites; Expression Blend for designing rich interactive experiences for Windows; Expression Design for the design of visual elements for Web and Windows experiences; and Expression Media, which provides digital asset management and unifies team workflow across the suite.

"Organisations have become aware of the direct impact user experience can have on the bottom line. In the work environment, a poorly-designed experience can make employees less productive and can require massing training and support expenditures," says Bhoola.

A big part of a great user experience is understanding design, and having people that do understand design as part of the team. Expression Studio provides a relevant set of software tools for creating a better user experience for the work environment, and the application.

"The combination of design and development delivers business value. Designers are looking for a more efficient way of working with developers. Microsoft is focused on making creative designers first-class citizens within the software development process, by offering them a powerful platform for better collaboration with their developer team counterparts," concludes Bhoola.
