Microsoft unveils 'Projects for Workgroups'

Microsoft has introduced a program for its US working with Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 called 'Project for Workgroups,' states Redmond Developer News.

The program features a Web portal where partners can share workflow processes, report templates, project methodologies and other project management assets associated with Office Project Server 2007.

Project for Workgroups provides solutions built by Microsoft's partners to create enterprise project management systems.

IBM intros Rational Insight

IBM has upgraded its rational development tools to include Rational Insight, a new project management dashboard for the toolset, reports InformationWeek.

Insight is built on the mining and presentation software acquired in IBM's purchase of Cognos.

The dashboard is intended to allow business managers pull key data on software development and modifications into progress charts.
