MicroStrategy debuts cloud platform

(BI) vendor MicroStrategy has revealed the general availability of its MicroStrategy Cloud platform, reports the Information Management.

The company says MicroStrategy Cloud provides customers with large-scale business intelligence capabilities based on a platform-as-a-service offering. It adds that the cloud-based offering combines the latest in-memory, 64-bit BI technology with a secure, continuously monitored infrastructure.

“MicroStrategy is building and deploying this infrastructure so that each customer can avoid investing millions of dollars on their own hardware and human resources,” CEO Michael Saylor notes in a statement.

According to CBR, MicroStrategy Cloud is mainly aimed at establishing a growing cloud ecosystem, 'the Cloud Alliance' that includes technology from data warehousing and data integration companies and establishes advanced worldwide data centres, as part of the company's cloud architecture.

It will also allow customers to build and host their own database on the MicroStrategy Cloud through integrated database and data integration options, where customers connect directly to their cloud-based data sources.

Meanwhile, Mena FN reports that as a purpose-built cloud service architected and optimised for large data volumes, MicroStrategy Cloud is powerful and flexible enough to support a full range of cloud use cases, including individual, departmental, or enterprise scale BI applications.
