MicroStrategy provides BI to hotel

MicroStrategy has announced that Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has expanded its use of MicroStrategy for () reporting and analytics to improve its relationships and loyalty programmes, says CNN Money.

MicroStrategy will enable Starwood personnel to analyse customer information to uncover purchasing patterns, and identify profiles of loyal customers.

The programme will also help ensure its customer service and Starwood Preferred Guest programme are closely aligned with customers' preferences.

BI lifts airport profit

Manchester Airport is using Oracle BI software to help replace revenue lost to the rise of low-cost airlines, reports Vnunet

The software is being used to analyse passenger and flight movements to improve staffing and efficiency.

The airport is now adding retail data to determine spending trends and boost sales at air-side shops.

Bank implements BI

Cognos has announced it will be providing Saudi Arabia's National Commercial Bank (NCB) with a BI implementation, reports Al Bawaba

Cognos signed the deal with the NCB, also known as Bank AlAhli, to extend the full BI solution at this year's GITEX Technology Week, following a successful and complete production roll-out.

The Cognos BI solution helps the bank navigate the complexities of a changing banking environment in the kingdom, where customers are replacing traditional visits to local branches with a preference for Internet and telephone banking.
