With effect from 1 May 2003, MigrationWare has been appointed as the Micro Focus` South African distributor. Under this agreement, MigrationWare will distribute the full range of Micro Focus products.

Micro Focus` Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for COBOL has long been the de facto standard for COBOL on Unix and Intel platforms. The latest product releases of Net Express and Enterprise Server extends the reach of the Micro Focus offerings to deliver a complete development and deployment environment. These include direct COBOL Web services, J2EE connectivity and XML support, allowing COBOL to integrate with all popular deployment technologies and participate fully in today`s Web-based world.
Micro Focus` Mainframe Express, on the other hand, provides a fully integrated IBM-mainframe maintenance and development environment, enabling developers to take advantage of modern and powerful tools to analyse, edit, compile, debug and test mainframe applications on their workstations. This IDE fully emulates applications that use any combinations of IBMs CICS, COBOL, Assembler, PL/I, VSAM, QSAM, IMS, DB2, JCL, REXX and CLIST, thereby enabling maintenance and development of these applications in a workstation environment.
MigrationWare has developed software for Micro Focus to extend the Mainframe Express product to access IDMS and ADABAS databases. These add-ons have been successfully installed at European-based Client sites.
MigrationWare is also a member of the Micro Focus Migration and Transformation Consortium (MTC) whose members specialise in the migration to Micro Focus supported platforms.
In partnership with Micro Focus, MigrationWare has recently successfully completed an automated application migration for a European-based client from COBOL IMS to the COBOL SQL platform. Clearly illustrating the capabilities of Mainframe Express, this total migration was performed locally without access to the client`s mainframe. The entire migration was performed in a workstation environment, using the offload features of Mainframe Express and MigrationWare`s sophisticated, automated translation and testing toolset.
