Mimecast announced as finalist in Legal Technology Awards 2008

Mimecast, a provider of Web-based e-mail management services, has today announced it has been short-listed as a finalist in the Legal Technology Awards 2008.

Mimecast is nominated for the "Online Product of the Year" category in recognition of its work, with almost one in three of the Top 100 UK legal firms.

Mimecast currently supplies its Web-based unified e-mail management service to leading UK law firms, including Taylor Wessing, Charles Russell and Osborne Clarke.

The service allows firms to consolidate the number of suppliers and servers for e-mail storage, archiving, security and continuity to just one, enabling significant cost savings. The unified e-mail management service requires no on-site hardware or software, providing "always-on" e-mail and 24/7 availability, that can be deployed at a fraction of the cost of software-based appliances or managed service alternatives.

Mimecast's solution is able to capture all forensic data about the transmission of e-mails, which is now admissible as evidence in court, in a manner that is completely tamper-proof. This is a key requirement for law firms, and Mimecast is the only e-mail management service that offers full forensic trace information.
