Mimecast increases channel investment this festive season

Johannesburg, 05 Nov 2010

Mimecast, an enterprise e-mail management company, offering SaaS-based e-mail security, continuity, policy control and archiving, has launched a channel promotion to enable its partners to take the advantages of enterprise-capable e-mail management capability to their customers.

“This promotion has been launched at a perfect time,” says Grant Hodgkinson, Business Development Director at Mimecast SA.

“Following telecoms deregulation, customers now have the ability to select providers for what they are good at, and to disengage services where previous all-in-one providers deliver badly. The traditional model in South Africa meant that customers had to accept whichever perimeter hygiene service their ISP had selected, but this is no longer the case. We have enabled this by providing our channel partners with a compelling offer to engage their customers so that they can take advantage of the momentum of deregulation, as well as address real e-mail management nightmares at the same time.”

Email Protect is Mimecast's security-only service that is designed to protect customers against evolving e-mail threats, which go beyond the traditional norms of spam, virus, malware and the like. In addition, it provides additional services such as e-mail branding, flexible attachment management rules and integration with Active Directory. Furthermore, Mimecast has an innovative approach to deliver e-mail into complex e-mail environments, all of which places it ahead of the competition.

“Many customers are uncertain of moving their entire e-mail management to the cloud. Email Protect is the perfect introduction to SaaS services and will assist Mimecast in providing our channel and their customers with a positive cloud experience, which will encourage them to explore the full unified e-mail management offering,” concludes Hodgkinson.
