Mimecast South Africa is investing a further R3.6 million into Microsoft's sub-Saharan channel, by offering its award winning cloud-based unified e-mail management (UEM) SaaS service free to a lucky few companies. This financial commitment is an extension of the very successful Top 100 Microsoft Partner Program, which has seen Mimecast SA invest R2.4 million in the channel since November 2008.
The Top 100 program enables Microsoft certified partners to each receive 100 Mimecast Unified Email Management (UEM) user accounts at no charge. This amounts to R60 000 in value per participating partner annually, excluding the savings they would achieve by eliminating the need for any further standalone e-mail management products.
“Mimecast SA is looking to increase the use of our UEM service in the Microsoft channel as we believe a positive user experience, which we are very confident of, will increase understanding and awareness of our product. This will support the long-term sales strategy, which is built on great technologies, great thinking, great service and a good solid brand,” says Garth Wittles. “The Microsoft channel partners who take up our offer will get the full Mimecast experience, with a service that offers a unique approach to anti-spam, anti-virus, free and unlimited high performance e-mail storage, eDiscovery, instant e-mail continuity and corporate ID management to all users.”
There is no expectation that Top 100 partner program members have to become Mimecast UEM resellers. “This initiative is about creating positive user experiences to increase awareness of Mimecast by adding real value during tough economic times. If any Top 100 members were interested in becoming resellers, we would welcome the conversation as it is a great annuity revenue opportunity as well, but it's not the purpose of this initiative and certainly not the expectation,” says Wittles.
