MindJet has announced the release of MindMan 3.0, the latest version of the essential brainstorming tool for the office. Distributed in South Africa by Graphic Image Technologies (GIT), MindMan is a visual tool that increases productivity and creativity by merging effective mind management techniques with feature-rich business software.
MindMan uses the Windows 95/Office 97 GUI, and tightly integrates with Microsoft Office-compatible applications. It helps to ensure that the communication of complex ideas is complete and unambiguous.
It exports information graphically and textually as printed output, conventional files or as HTML (including Java applets and clickable image maps). This means no technical knowledge is needed to publish results in either conventional format, to intranets or the Web.
According to Mark Chertkow, MD of GIT, MindMan`s visual techniques are intuitive, easy to use and provide a new perspective on your work. "With MindMan you can bring your ideas to life without the usual restrictions imposed by linear structures and listings."
MindMan is based on the internationally accepted mind mapping concept created by Tony Buzan. Creative mind management techniques allow one to brainstorm and co-operate more efficiently by collating thought processes into a logical diagram. The diagram is in turn interactive within the application, and can be used to visually rearrange ideas, save them into recognised business software formats, and even export them into fully-rendered HTML pages.
Chertkow says: "This version breaks new and exciting ground for both individuals and organisations, and greatly improves the user`s ability to organise and plan in an effective and creative manner."
GIT reports that some creative companies are assessing MindMan 3.0 for idea development, planning and communication. "These organisations are looking to reduce implementation and training time, as the interface is already familiar to most employees," says Chertkow. "As importantly, it is the perfect vehicle for remote collaboration. MindMan`s Conferencing feature enables interactive, realtime sharing and editing of mind maps via the Internet.
"MindMan combines the universally accepted technique of mind mapping with modern technology," says Chertkow. "It should enable the PC user to enhance his productivity, increasing his business potential."
