With the growing demand for companies to accurately manage and track hard copy document production, Minolta`s Integrated Systems Information Exchange (MiSix) division has introduced the Equitrac suite of products to its range of software solutions.
Equitrac solutions manage, track and export the use of printers, copiers and fax machines to facilitate cost recovery, resource management and document accounting.
Minolta MiSix product manager, Jody Harrington, says by effectively tracking the number of copies, faxes and prints made, companies can maximise office equipment efficiency, contain overhead costs and increase profits.
"By managing the office equipment and its output more efficiently, Equitrac enables companies to track waste and unauthorised use of office equipment. It guides recommendations for the optimal deployment of office equipment and the management of the associated consumables for the equipment. In addition, by tracking usage, hard copy costs can be billed to customers, clients or in-house users.
"The system is able to generate reports that detail the page volume by any number of criteria including project, date, client, user or department," says Harrington.
Minolta uses a combination of custom developed software interfaces in combination with Equitrac solutions including Print Management, Control Terminal, Web-based Technology and Transaction Server solutions. The Print Management solutions enable users to monitor, manage and measure all network print activity, while Control Terminals allow for advanced cost recovery relating to client billing.
Equitrac`s Transaction Servers - System 4, OfficeTrac, DisburseMate and Accountrac - are all advanced resource management tools. Web-based Technology, System 4 Web X, is a browser based application which allows users to remotely edit transactions that reside on a System 4 transaction server.
To date, Minolta has installed Equitrac systems for customers in the legal, engineering, design and pay for print industries, as well as for various corporate organisations.
