Minolta launches DI151 affordable digital technology for SOHO market

Johannesburg, 02 Jun 2000

Minolta has launched the Dialta Di151 - a copier, fax and printer housed in one unit and designed specifically for the small-office-home-office (SOHO) market or small workgroups.

Minolta copier product manager Paul Symonds says the advanced digital technology has been unaffordable to the entry-level market. Until now. "The latest addition to the Dialta range offers advanced digital technology to the SOHO market, and, combined with the fax and printer functions, is an affordable option for small offices," he says.

The multifunctional device saves space with its `wingless` design, which means no more trays sticking out, making it perfect for small offices or tight spaces.

As a digital copier, the Di151 produces 15 copies per minute on A4 paper, and features scan-once-print-many digital technology, 600dpi print quality, and a photo mode for high quality printing.

In addition, the machine features electronic sorting which allows the user to sort without a sorter and bins. The Di151 can also perform 2-in-1 copying and offers a wide zoom range, providing the flexibility to copy documents in a variety of sizes.

The fax capabilities include high speed transmission incorporating a 33,6kbps high-speed modem, transmitting messages in less than three seconds per page. The unit receives faxes at 600dpi resolution, and boasts a 2MB memory, upgradable to 6MB, which allows the user to store outgoing or incoming large volume documents. In addition, thick books, magazines and even cut and pasted documents can be set on the glass and sent directly without the need to make copies first.

As a printer, the Di151 uses a 24MHz RISC processor, producing 15 pages per minute with 600dpi output. The Di151 comes with an easy to use printer driver, which allows the user to quickly choose any printer function just by following the graphics on the driver window. And using the optional Interface Card, the Di151 can be linked directly to the network.
