Minolta`s 49.7% market share in the 40-59 copies per minute (cpm) segment is set to be further boosted with the introduction of the enhanced Di552 multifunctional digital copier.
According to research conducted by InfoSource (Spring 2003), Minolta`s total market share in SA in this segment increased from 38.5% in the 12 months to end 2001 to 49.7% in the same period in 2002, as a result of more than trebling the number of unit placements in this segment.
Minolta digital copier division product manager, Paul Symonds says this is mainly due to the successful Di450 and Di550 products which were on offer during this period. "The new Di552 digital copier, which is an enhancement of the successful Di550, and is expected to be equally well received by the market," he says.
The multifunctional device offers copying and printing, scanning and booklet making, and allows users to process, share and relay large volume documents as well as data information with speed.
The Di552 delivers copies at 55 pages per minute at a crisp resolution of 600dpi, and offers the same speeds for prints, through a choice of two optional network printer controllers. The advanced finishing functions associated with the copier, including stapling, hole-punching and folding, can also be used when producing prints from any PC on the network.
In addition, the Di552 offers 50 pages-per-minute network scanning functions, allowing users to transform paper documents into data. Functions such as scan-to-e-mail and scan-to-ftp enable you to directly e-mail your scanned data as well as share it on the server.
