MINOLTA-QMS is now including PageScope with its line of colour and monochrome Crown II laser printers. A network printer management utility, PageScope allows network users and administrators to monitor and configure their MINOLTA-QMS network printers, as well as some Minolta digital copiers and other manufacturers` printers, with one simple program.
PageScope provides network administrators in small to medium-sized businesses a powerful management tool comparable to those utilised by large companies with enterprise-wide systems. It automatically identifies not only MINOLTA-QMS printers, but also other RFC1759-compliant printers or digital copiers on the network. Administrators can individually configure printers, or group them together and make changes to the entire group simultaneously.
Resource load management features built into PageScope allow the network administrator to immediately retrieve usage and error statistics from MINOLTA-QMS printers.
PageScope is a Web-based client-server program. It is accessible via Web browsers to an administrator-controlled user list, providing the ability to set up, configure, and maintain network devices remotely. Administrators may utilise e-mail to request statistics or automatically transmit a device error alert to a predetermined person.
More than just a printer utility, PageScope`s support of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) not only provides convenient monitoring of network configurations and settings, but also remote management for a host of other network devices.
"MINOLTA-QMS is committed to making network printing as easy as possible," said Marc Pillay, Marketing Manager for MINOLTA-QMS. "The addition of PageScope to our printer line exemplifies our quest for improved convenience and productivity in the workplace."
PageScope is standard on all MINOLTA-QMS Crown II network printers, and compatible with Windows operating systems, including Windows 2000, Unix, Linux and Novell Netware.
