Minolta-QMS has launched its new tandem laser print method, Prismlaser (Photo Reactive Image Splitting Module) Technology, which allows colour laser printer/copiers to produce colour prints at the same speed as black and white prints without compromising the quality of the prints.
Minolta-QMS laser printer product manager, Marc Pillay, says that while colour laser printer/copiers have traditionally produced black and white pages faster than colour pages, the advent of PrismLaser Technology means that colour printer/copiers can now print all four toner colours (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) simultaneously and deliver up to 16 laser-quality pages per minute in both full colour or black and white.
"Output devices are now two to four times faster than traditional four-pass colour laser printers and, as a result of the single-pass tandem print method, problems of mis-registration that can occur when several imaging units are used to sequentially produce an image are eliminated," says Pillay.
With faster print speeds, improved registration and superior print quality, users no longer need to sacrifice speed for quality prints or vice versa, and with fewer replacement consumables necessary, the cost of operation and ownership is greatly improved.
