Minolta QMS up the standards of entry level laser printers

Minolta QMS has announced the PagePro 1100 family of monochrome laser printers designed for SOHO (Small Office and Home Office) environments.

The PagePro 1100 printers offer features specifically for SOHO users, which include speed, quality output, document handling flexibility, ease of use and compact size - at an affordable price.

"The launch of the PagePro 1100 printers demonstrates one of the first tangible results of the recent QMS and Minolta printer division convergence," comments Robin Mowatt, managing director of Minolta QMS in South Africa.

"Combining QMS and Minolta`s resources over the past few months has allowed us to extend the breadth of our product line into the sub-R2500- monochrome laser printer market.

Total cost of ownership has been reduced considerably by implementing a separate toner and drum cartridges in the Page Pro 1100 series of printers. Toners are available in 3000 prints or long life 6000 prints cartridges, while the drum gives up to 20 000 prints.

"This creates an entirely new customer base for the QMS line, which can take advantage of the quality and value our printers are known for."

The PagePro 1100 family offers 10 ppm print speed and up to 1200 dpi resolution, making them the ideal tool for fast production of high-quality, professional documents. Expandable paper capacity and support for a wide variety of media, ranging from envelope to legal size, allow the PagePro 1100 to handle a multitude of business printing needs.

The PagePro 1100 printers have a user-friendly design, reliable smooth paper path, and long lasting consumables, which reduce work flow interruptions and increase productivity. A compact overall footprint allows them to be easily placed as desktop units, even in the smallest home office. Multi-user offices can easily share the PagePro 1100 through Microsoft Windows, or with the addition of an optional Ethernet interface.

Two models are available in the PagePro 1100 series. The PagePro 1100L contains an IEEE 1284 parallel interface and is optimized for the Windows environment, capitalising on the printing capabilities already contained in Windows 95/98 and NT 4.0.

The PagePro 1100 offers resident PCL 6 emulation, an optional 10/100BaseT Ethernet interface, and PageScope printer utility to handle the robust demands of multi-user small office environments. PageScope web-based printer utility allows network administrators to set printer settings and check printer status from any host PC.
