Bidvest Group company, Minolta South Africa, has introduced the Konica Minolta magicolor 2480MF multifunctional colour laser that combines five essential business functions - print, copy, scan, camera direct photo print and PC fax - into one convenient machine that prints and copies up to 20 pages per minute (ppm) in monochrome and 5ppm in colour.

Based on an award-winning Konica Minolta colour laser print engine design, the magicolor 2480MF makes it easy to produce high-quality colour prints, copies, scans and digital fax documents. 2400dpi print and copy resolution produces crisp text, rich blacks, vibrant colours, realistic photographs and smooth shading.
Copies can be easily reduced or enlarged by using the 50-200% zoom feature, and one-touch functions are available to customise copy quality even further. Documents and photos can be scanned in 24-bit colour directly to a PC with ScanSoft PaperPort SE from Nuance and then annotated or edited; saved in PDF, JPEG, or TIFF format; or converted to editable text using the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature. Both the flatbed glass and the standard automatic document feeder support documents up to A4.
The magicolor 2480MF includes FaxTalk Communicator software, which provides digital PC fax send and receive functionality. Users can scan and customise a document on the PC before faxing or printing.
In addition, Camera Direct Photo Print allows digital images to be printed directly from a PictBridge-enabled digital camera without using a PC or special software. PictBridge provides control over a number of photo printing options, including resolution, media type and size, copy count, n-up, batch, and index printing.
The magicolor 2480MF supports a wide variety of standard and custom media sizes, as well as plain paper, thick stock, glossy stock, transparencies, labels, envelopes and photo media. An optional automatic duplexer provides professional-quality, two-sided printed documents as well as cost-effective, two-sided copies from one-sided originals.
The magicolor 2480MF delivers its first black and white page in 12 seconds and colour page in 21 seconds. It features `Plug and Play` Hi-Speed USB 2.0, optional Fast Ethernet interfaces and a robust duty cycle of up to 35 000 prints per month. It is compatible with Windows XP, 2000, Me and 98SE operating systems.
