Minolta South Africa has concluded a reseller agreement with Unison Communications (Pty) Ltd, to sell UNIfax, a computer based fax solution, which allows all users on a LAN to send and receive faxes directly to and from their desktops. Using UNIfax, you can send a text document or graphic image as easily as clicking `Print` from an open document in a Windows-based programme. The number can be entered in standard 7-digit or the new 10-digit format. Faxes can also be scheduled to be delivered on a future date.
According to Minolta fax product manager, Charl Vogel, the relationship with Unison will enable Minolta to offer its clients an even more comprehensive range of fax solutions.
"Because of UNIfax`s competitive pricing policy, as well as the ease of implementation, we are able to target it to meet the needs of our SME sector," he said.
Unison business development manager, Craig Young, said the reseller agreement with Minolta will allow Unison to extend its existing partnership base and make UNIfax available to a broader user base.
"We are confident that UNIfax will enhance Minolta`s existing business focus and, because it is locally developed, Minolta clients will benefit from UNIfax`s local support structure, and service base," he said.
The UNIfax server is based on Euro ISDN technology, which makes it highly compatible with European system-based telecommunications technologies used in South Africa.
This server presents a number of delivery options, which include: via PABX to internal or external fax numbers (timed or immediate), via e-mail to desktop, on mobile phone SMS, or via web interface. A single platform supports both voice mail and fax mail, without the need to provide separate systems.
