Minolta South Africa has concluded a reseller agreement with Unison Communications (Pty) Ltd, to market and sell UNiFAX, a computer-based fax server solution, which allows all users on a network to send and receive faxes directly to and from their desktops.
According to Minolta fax product manager, Charl Vogel, the relationship with Unison will enable Minolta to offer its clients an even more comprehensive range of fax solutions. "The fact that UNiFAX is developed locally offers substantial advantages with regards to competitive pricing policies, bearing in mind the constant exchange rate fluctuations, as well as local service and support initiatives.
"The addition of UNiFAX compliments Minolta`s existing strategy as a comprehensive solution provider to its traditional markets, and we are now able to target the specific needs of a new sector," says Vogel.
Unison business development manager, Craig Young, says the reseller agreement with Minolta allows Unison to extend its existing partnerships and make UNiFAX available to a broader user base. "UNiFAX allows companies access to automated fax server technology that has previously only been available to the true corporate with significant budgets.
"We are confident that UNiFAX will enhance Minolta`s existing business focus and, because of the local presence we are able to respond to market requirements at a lower development cost. Over the past 19 years Unison has, as with the UNiFAX server, used selective technologies which are proving beneficial in providing applications that are easier to implement," says Young.
The UNiFAX fax server is based on Euro ISDN technology, which makes it highly compatible with European system-based telecommunications technologies used in SA.
The advantages of fax server technologies include various fax transmission and reception possibilities. The sending of faxes directly from any windows applications, as well as allowing individuals to receive faxes directly into their e-mail inbox.
UNiFAX forms part of Unison`s comprehensive Unified Messaging platform. The market has shown enormous interest in the product and Minolta South Africa has already accumulated prospects worth R1.2 million.
