Bidvest Group company, Minolta South Africa, has launched a series of three new, versatile multifunctional devices, the Konica Minolta bizhub 160 with graphic device interface (GDI) and the bizhub 160f and 161f, both with fax.
All three devices are advanced and durable desktop units with copier, scanner and printer functionality. In addition, they all boast advanced network connectivity functions and are ideally designed for small office or home office use.
Minolta SA copier division product manager Paul Symonds says for excellent usability, functionality and advanced networking solutions all in one compact machine, the bizhub 160/161 series is the answer to small to mid-size office needs.
The network scan function enables efficient document management such as quick distribution of information and data sharing. Scan to e-mail (160f, 161f) allows users to attached scanned data to e-mail messages while scan to FTP (160f, 161f) facilitates the uploading of scanned data to an FTP server. Despite being black and white machines, the bizhub 160/161 series comes standard with a colour TWAIN scanner.
All three models feature parallel and USB interfaces for easy PC connectivity. The bizhub 160/160f prints 16 pages per minute (ppm) at 300dpi or 12ppm at 600dpi with a GDI controller. The bizhub 161f is equipped with a PCL controller, which offers 16ppm, A4-size output at 1 200dpi x 600dpi and a RIP Once function to boost productivity. Printing functions such as N-up printing and watermark functions are available in all three models.
The bizhub 160f and bizhub 161f feature Super G3 fax function for high-speed faxing. An optional Network Interface Card NC-501 and the Internet Fax & Network Scan Kit can be added for efficient fax operations, for example, faxes can be forwarded to PCs with the Fax Forwarding function and faxes and e-mails can be sent to multiple recipients simultaneously with the Broadcast Transmission function.
The bizhub 160/161 series produces crisp and clear image quality, the result of Konica Minolta`s digital laser technology. They offer electronic sorting and a 2-in-1 copying function. 750 sheets of paper can be loaded using the optional tray and the bypass tray can be used to print thick paper, envelopes and labels.
