Minolta South Africa has signed an exclusive agreement with SOFTELEC, for the distribution of the VPHybridCAD raster editing and vectorizing software suite that is ideally suited to engineering and architectural environments.
The VPHybridCAD software will be distributed through Minolta South Africa`s Oc'e wide format printing systems division.
Oc'e business unit manager, Luis Roldan, says organisations that manage paper drawings, such as architects and engineers, require advanced methods to scan, edit and convert their drawings into digital format.
"In the past, Minolta offered hardware to convert hard copy legacy documents to digital format, but because scanned images do not always translate into suitable archival quality, customers had to source the relevant software to `clean up ` their images."
Roldan says that most organisations prefer using a single application software tool that allows simultaneous raster and vector editing. "VPHybridCAD responds to this demand and provides software applications to combine raster images and vector data, resulting in improved CAD editing, cost savings, and workflow productivity.
"On evaluating the various products available, VPHybridCAD was found to be one of the most comprehensive raster editing and vectorizerising packages on the market. Incorporating VPHybridCAD software into our range of Oc'e digital wide format equipment has positioned us as a one-stop vendor for customers looking for a total solution," says Roldan.
