MGX has been appointed an approved integration partner of Miraculum, operator of the open electronic B2B marketplace, Miraculum Xchange, and provider of leading online business applications as enablers to the community within that marketplace.
Acting as an intermediary, MGX`s Get2Connect plays a key role in connecting Miraculum Xchange with the back office applications of Miraculum`s customers. This communication mechanism applies to both suppliers and buyers on Miraculum Xchange.
"A crucial aspect of providing a service to the Miraculum trading community is the ability to provide B2B integration between a buyer`s purchasing systems and a supplier`s sales systems. The huge business benefit realised from integrating these applications with Miraculum Xchange, is that the Miraculum customers` investment in existing applications will be both protected and complemented," says Grant Thiselton, chief technology officer, Miraculum.
A major complication in providing an integration solution between a service provider`s application and the customer`s application, is the variety of integration methods and format of integration messages. Miraculum has developed an integration model based on Oracle integration solutions.
"This model, however, is not necessarily applicable to all of our customers. The Get2Connect integration hub allows us to send a message out from Miraculum Xchange using our specific integration model. The hub has a built-in transformation capability which then forwards the message to the customer in a format that they are able to use. This approach gives us the necessary flexibility to integrate our single integration model solution to a wide variety of customer applications," says Thiselton.
The investment that customers will make in the marketplace will allow for the return on investment (ROI) to be realised a lot more easily purely because of the flexible nature of the communication that Miraculum is establishing. As a result, these integrated customers will add higher volumes and greater value to the marketplace as a whole.
"The Get2Connect document hub provides for the delivery of electronic documents to any member of the trading community in the format that is suitable to their particular back office system, whether it be Pastel for a very small supplier or a large SAP run organisation," says Andrew Procter, managing director of Get2Connect at MGX.
"The key here is that business-to-business (B2B) electronic marketplaces are a fact and this is the way the world, and SA in particular, is going to start conducting business. The model we have established with Get2Connect is one that is going to facilitate the business and actually make it work," says Miraculum`s managing director, Brandon Spear.
"In setting up the Miraculum marketplace, we have partnered with key organisations whom we believe can deliver real value back to our community. Get2Connect is one such partnership and is providing us with the value-add to an integration model to make the integration process simpler, faster and better. They were also the only supplier that was able to deliver the solution in the time scales we required," says Spear.
"Miraculum have a strong position and understanding of the marketplace to ensure the success of the initiative," says Procter.
MGX`s Get2Connect initiative is designed to be the underpinning infrastructure that makes e-commerce a reality among communities of trading partners by facilitating the electronic business-to-business flow of documents and processes.
Get2Connect is not a procurement application nor is it an electronic marketplace or a supply chain application. It is, however, a platform for Business-to-Business Integration (B2Bi) which underpins all forms of B2B transactions.
